Beautiful Day

Good afternoon everyone......

Today was just so beautiful. It was 90 degrees, sunny, slight breeze.

After our meeting, Amy & the girls came with May & I to Puppy Park. There we lots of puppies there!!!!

May had a blast as always, and the girls had a good time too. Above are pictures from Puppy Park and some shots of Nantaskett Beach in Hull, that I took last week when Amy & I went there to chill out for an evening.

Update about leaving apartment: Mom asked me to come stay there with her, until I leave in September- to save some extra money for trip & to get car prepped for journey - so I will be giving my notice the 1st of June and be leaving apartment end of June. I will still be in area though until September. This gives me two months of not paying big bills- it will help greatly.

Hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend and doing well. I know Uncle Danny & Aunt Judy are heading out on their trip to CO,AZ, NM,UT area. They'll be gone about 2 months. I'm looking forward to seeing them in the Fall, in FLA.

Well I'm going to get along now- Take Care Everyone, and I'll be back in touch soon.

Love, Donna

Long weekend ahead

Hi everyone.... another wonderful day in the neighborhood (lol)

It's been a quiet week so far this week.  We are starting go get some warm weather- They say it will get into high  80's- low 90's by Monday!!!  (Sigh) I think spring is gone.

I've been bringing Babs to work this week as the starter went on her car- She'll be getting it fixed next Wednesday.  It's been a long time since I've been up at 5:30am on a regular basis (lol)

Dave has been very busy these days--- He's been working in Wareham this past week.  The push is on to get the houses done!!!

I'm babysitting for Amy tonight, as she, Angie & Dave are going out clubbing--- I remember those days. (lol)

Gearing up for the yard sale next Saturday.... It will be good to get rid of this stuff...purging is good.

I'm going to be looking at laptops next couple of weeks.  A couple of people have mentioned satellite capabilities- don't know much about this, so I'll have to do some research.

I still play my games on pogo- usually nightly-  have met a great group of friends there.

Well I guess that's it for now-  Hope this day finds everyone doing well....Take Care....Love Donna

May came home

Hi,  It's a quiet day around here today.  Brought Babs to work today- the starter went on her car Saturday.  She has to wait til next week to get it fixed.

I went & picked up May at Wade's.  She had been there since Sunday.  As always she seemed glad to see me & wanted to leave right away (lol).  She loves to play with her cousins, but always wants to come home.

Yesterday I did drop off my saddle, saddle pad, helmet & lunging whip to the Handi Kids Barn.  I met Carol & Jane, both very nice ladies.  Jane was telling me that anytime I need a horse fix that I was welcome to come to barn.  She also said they accept volunteers to help with the kids & horses.  So after the yard sale, I'm going back down to talk to them more about being a volunteer for the summer.    I think that  I might volunteer 1-2 days per week.  I've got experience working with disabled children & with horses- a perfect combination!!!  If it works out well, when I get back from my "WALKABOUT"  maybe I'll go back there to help every summer.

The weather wasn't as nice today,  as yesterday.  Yesterday was bright sunny skies, warm (60's) and light breeze.  Today was a bit more cloudy & cooler.  They say though the rest of this week is suppose to be great.  Sunny & warmer- maybe up to 80's by Sunday!!!!   This is the holiday weekend coming up.  It will be very busy with the good weather- I'm staying away from the Cape this weekend (lol)

Just as a side note to those who may have been reading this blog since I started- it is no longer a private blog-  I opened it up to the public, so it would be easier for everyone to read, as I am going to use it to communicate while I'm traveling.  Please still feel free to add any comments you wish.  (I did go back through though & edited some things out so that personal stuff wouldn't be on open Internet.)

Ok thats about it for now- Take Care everyone- I'll be back in touch soon-  Love Donna

Busy Weekend

Hi everyone,

What a busy weekend...... Friday Amy, Desi & I took my things that Babs was keeping for me at her storage unit and brought them home here.  Saturday I spend the day going thru all that stuff....Sunday Amy, Dave and & went thru stuff over at Wade's, in his storage trailer.  Then we brought that stuff here too....(lol)  Now I have an apartment full of STUFF!!!!!

But that's ok cause it will all be gone on the 3rd of June (I hope).  Right now going thru things and putting like things together- making it easier to set up for the yard sale.

Today I'm dropping off my old saddle, saddle pad & helmet off to the HandiKids Camp.  I called and spoke to Carol.  They still accept donations of equipment for the horses.  This is a camp for kids with physical & emotional problems.  It's a great place.  It only took me 6 yrs to finally give the saddle away- I guess I am ready for the new chapter in my life (LOL).

Well, take care everyone, and I'll be back in touch soon.   Love Donna

It's another day closer to launch day!!!  118 days left til I embark on my journey.  Things are coming  together- slowly, but they are coming together.  Will have 1st yard sale on 6/3/06.  Depending how well the sales go I'll be having 2-3 of them.

We had some wild T-Storms this morning.  Just what we needed is more rain (lol).

Well, I just wanted to touch base- Take Care everyone- I'll be back in touch soon.

More Updates

Well it's been an interesting week.....

It's been raining non stop since the 8th of May- It may continue to rain til this Friday.....Can we say time to build an Ark!!!

Have started to seriously  dismantle apartment now- Things are beginning to look a bit bare.

Darlene showed up at mom's on Mother's Day.  Surprise- surprise...

Mom called me to come over- it was the longest 3hrs I've had to live through in a long time.  (lol)   Basically she was telling us about her life & what had been going on-  She hadn't seen mom in 9 yrs, and me in 5 yrs.  She had her 4 kids with her.  Mom didn't say much other than what she had to and that usually was with a yes/no answer.

Amy & girls are coming over for supper tonight-- it's been a while since they've been here for dinner- should be good.

Amy still definitely wants to take May when I leave.  So that will be good, I won't have to worry about her.

I've decided to let Wade use my computer while I'm gone - That way he doesn't have to wait on David to teach him.  I'll give him some basic lessons before I go and between me, Dave & Mom- he should be able to get by.... (lol) Well we'll see anyways.

All right now- I will be going now- I'll be back in touch soon.   Love Donna

EC 143-2- me-and 143 EC too- got jobs 5/09/06- now wait & see.

EC has ball in court now as of this a.m.  Will have to see what happens.

Updates

Hello Everyone,

Well the past 2 1/2 weeks have been busy.  We've been enjoying some nice weather too.

Since I last wrote:Went out to dinner with Dave on the 21st of April- we had a nice time at Smoky Bones.

In Rockland Congregation we had the Traveling Overseer- Br. Freebuis for the last time- Wow... 3yrs has gone by already!!!

On April 29th, Dave took Amy & I out for dinner.  We had Mexican food in a restaurant in Weymouth Landing -- having a senior moment and can't remember the name- will add it later (lol). Update 6/11/06- name of resturant is El Sarape

On 4/28/06 I let everyone know that I was going on my walk about.  I've had mixed reviews- mostly good/positive.  I am looking forward to starting this new adventure in my life.  I've had many people invite me to stop by while I'm out & about..  Some of my POGO friends want me to stop in and say hello, and I do believe I will.   Should be a great adventure.

5/2/06  Miss Kelsey- the granddaughter of one of my pogo buddies lost her little puppy to a car accident.  I sent her a card to let her know how sorry I was to hear the news.  Kelsey is a sweet 10 y/o- who lives in MD.

May has been to puppy park several times now- She just loves it there.

May also got her updated rabies shot Saturday 5/6/06- she handled it like a trooper!! No complaints!
